Mildred A. (Hardman) Hamilton

January 25, 1932 — December 19, 2017

Mildred A. Hamilton, 85, of Lawton passed away peacefully after a long illness on Tuesday, December 19, 2017 at Rose Arbor Hospice. Mildred was born in Zona, West Virginia to Donald and Eloda (Roberts) Hardman. A 1952 graduate of Camden-Clark Memorial Hospital School of Nursing in Parkersburg, West Virginia, she was a Registered Nurse who spent the last 30 years of her career at Lakeview Community Hospital in Paw Paw, Michigan, retiring in 1997. Mildred was preceded in death by her father, William Donald Hardman; her mother, Eloda (Roberts) Hardman Sams; and her stepfather, Clermont E. Sams. She is survived by her husband of 59 years, Julian “Ed” Hamilton; her three children, David (Tracey) Hamilton of West Olive, Susan (Bob) Connelly of Kalamazoo, and Christopher (Norma) Hamilton of Lawton; and her three grandchildren, Angela, Jenny and Joshua Hamilton. Mildred was deeply loved by her family and friends, and she will be greatly missed.

A memorial service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 11:00 a.m. at St. Paul’s United Methodist Church in Lawton, followed by a luncheon at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to any of the following organizations: St. Paul’s United Methodist Church, the Lawton Public Library, Arthritis Foundation or Spina Bifida Association.
