Michele Anne Huston, 54, of Mattawan, passed away Monday, December 12, 2022, at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born May 31, 1968, in Vicksburg, the daughter of Herbert Bent and Patricia (Wohlfert) Sonnevil.
Michele lived her life always looking at the positive side. Her charismatic personality and cheerful humor drew others to her like a magnet. She was a loving mother to her children and taught her kids to always do what was right. She always inspired them, especially with their careers. Her daughter, Kaitlyn, followed in her mother's footsteps, pursuing a career in nursing. Michele previously worked as a supervisor at Lakeland Hospital and later became a O.R. nurse.
As the years went on, Michele began to have some health concerns and she was no longer able to continue working. As she was forced to take a step back from the career she loved, Michele has always maintained her nursing license. She never let her health struggles get her down and was grateful for everything that she had and everything she was able to do.
Later in life Michele found her soul mate Darin. The couple had an unwavering love for each other. Among many things, they both loved to go fishing together. Around the home she had a strong talent for interior decorating and organization. She was an avid scrap booker and was part of a scrap booking club. She also had a great time binge watching tv shows and cherished the times spent with her grandchildren.
Michele is survived by her fiancée, Darin McNeil of Mattawan, two sons, Thomas Huston of Kalamazoo and Nicholas (Kalie) Huston of Fayetteville, NC; daughter, Kaitlyn Huston of Portage; stepdaughter, Natalie (Scott) Grzybowski of Casper, WY; two stepsons, James (Sarah) Huston and Paul Huston of Cadillac, MI; 18 Grandchildren, one brother, Craig Bent of Mattawan, one sister, Stacey Bent of Sherwood, OR; along with many nieces and nephews. Michele was preceded in death by her father, Herbert Bent.
