Matthew Leo Edward Melson

Matthew Leo Edward Melson, 37, of Paw Paw, went to be with the Lord June 28, 2023. Matt was born April 7, 1986, in Kalamazoo. He grew up in Paw Paw and graduated from Paw Paw High School in 2005. Matt was a member of Freshwater Community Church and New Beginning Church. He was baptized June 21, 2021. He was an avid outdoorsman and loved fishing, and playing a round of golf. He also found joy in playing his guitar. Matt was always willing to lend a helping hand and was a member of Celebrate Recovery.

Matt loved his family fiercely and was a beloved son, brother, husband, father, grandson, nephew, uncle, cousin and child of God. He leaves his mother and father, Sherry and Timothy Bulson, his wife Tara (King) Melson and their children, Madilynn and Zailen King, one brother, Jared Bulson, grandmother, Geralea Melson, aunts and uncles, Michael (Tammy) Melson, Susan (Timothy) Douglas, Brian (April) Melson, Rebecca (Jerod) Melson, Amanda Smith, Rebecca (Daryll) Brewis, Janet (Eugene) Patterson, Alan (Carla) Bulson, George (Chris) Bulson and Wayne Bulson, nephews, Timothy Hopwood, Jr., and  Aaron Manion, mother and father in law, Melissa and Richard King, along with several aunts, uncles, great aunts and great uncles, cousins and his father Jeffrey Turner. Matt was preceded in death by his grandfathers Edward Melson and George Bulson, his grandmother Eloise Bulson, his sister Victoria Bulson and his aunt, Sharon (Robertson) Bulson.

Family and friends are invited to visit Thursday, July 6, 2023, from 12:00 - 1:00 p.m. at Freshwater Community Church, 600 East Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, where a funeral service will follow at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Troy Gentz and Pastor Daniel Brooks officiating. Burial will follow at Wildey Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, the family request memorial contributions be made to the family through Freshwater Community Church for his wife and children or to Paw Paw Celebrate Recovery.

The light of our lives, he will be missed and always loved. Until we meet again, we love you.
