Peacefully and surrounded by loved ones, Mary Ann Bigley passed away on Sunday, May 23, 2021.
She was born on August 17, 1947 to Nolan and Charlotte (Powers) Scribner of Lakewood, Ohio. She had been a resident of Royal Oak, Michigan for 40 years.
Mary Ann married William Bigley, Jr. on January 20, 1968 at St. Luke’s Church in Lakewood. She is preceded in death by her husband and parents and is survived by her three children: Billy (Stacey) of Birmingham, Michigan; Joe of Aspen, Colorado; and Amy (John) Hazelhoff of Mattawan, Michigan. She is also survived by her grandchildren Thomas and Grace Hazelhoff of Mattawan, Michigan and Francesca and Rose Bigley of Birmingham, Michigan
Mary Ann was a compassionate nurse at William Beaumont Hospital for 30 years and a faithful parishioner at Shrine of the Little Flower. She was an avid reader, Jeopardy fan, and dog lover.
Mary Ann’s proudest role was as a loving mother and grandmother. She had a heart of gold and those who were fortunate enough to feel her warmth knew that her approach was never hesitant nor exclusive. She embodied the true meaning of unconditional love. While Mary Ann’s family grieves her loss, they take comfort in knowing that she is finally home.
