Mary passed away Saturday morning, September 28, 2013 at Bronson LakeVIew Hospital, Paw Paw. She was born one of eight children on September 26, 1943 in St. Louis, MO the daughter of the late Hardtie Levi and Johnnie Azalee (Lewis) Churchill. Mary was of Cherokee Indian Tribe decent and enjoyed reading, drawing, and cooking for family gatherings. Surviving are 7 children, Raymond Gibson of Shipshewana, IN, Tracy Lea (Buddy Joe) Thomas of Jonesboro, AR, Christine Gibson of South Haven, Steven Wayne Gibson of Shipshewana, IN, Mitchell Allen (William Allen) Gibson of Paw Paw, Charles Dean Gibson of Sister Lakes, MI, and Connie Sue (Jeff) Shigenka of Warren, OH; 20 Grandchildren; 14 Great Grandchildren; brothers and sisters, Darlene Miller of LaPorte, IN, Shirley Lindsey of Paw Paw, Anna (James) Vermiller of Fisk Lake, Betty Dixon of Salem Heights, IN, Leon (Joyce) Churchill of LaPorte, IN, and Silas Churchill of IN; several niece and nephews; her special K-9 friend, Chica. Mary was preceded in death by a son, Roger Dale Gibson in 1974 and a brother, Dave Churchill. Family will receive friends Thursday (10/3) 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will, be held Friday, (10/4) 11 a.m. Interment will be in Oak Ridge Cemetery in Buchanan, MI. Memorial contributions may be made to the West Michigan Cancer Center, Kalamazoo.
