Marvin passed away Saturday, April 9, 2011 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo with his wife and children at his side. He was born January 19, 1932 in Paw Paw, MI the son of the late Lawrence and May Dorothy (Laphen) Davis. Marvin served in the U.S. Air Force from 1951 to 1971 and retired with the rank of Staff Sergeant. After retirement from the military, Marvin was employed by General Motors for 20 years. He enjoyed watching old western movies, playing cards, and being with his family. On December 26, 1951 in Paw Paw, Marvin was united in marriage to Frances Gleason who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Carin Chipman, Melanie (Sam) Farrington and Rosemary Hadley all of Vicksburg; son, Larry Davis of Vicksburg; 10 grandchildren, Kevin (Maryann) Zeller, Kelsey (Brady) Ellis, Kasey Chipman, Brittney Farrington, Brock Farrington, Brieann Farrington, Stuart Hayner, Jason (Beth)Hadley, Leslie Gunderson, and Jake Davis; 2 great grandchildren, Cooper Ellis and Kyllie Zeller, many nieces and nephews. Marvin was preceded in death by a sister, Marilyn Baker. Private family services will be held. Interment with military honors will be in Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to Rose Arbor Hospice Residence, Kalamazoo. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral home, Paw Paw.
