Martin John Rogers

November 24, 1989 — March 10, 2020

Paw Paw

Martin John Rogers passed away on March 10th 2020, at the age of 30.  He was born in Paw Paw, Michigan, on November 24th 1989, the son of Buddy and Debra (Cottman) Rogers.  He graduated Paw Paw High School in 2008.  Everything that he pursued, he put his full passion into.  He took pride in his work and he saw the beauty in everything.  He was a talented guitar player with an amazing voice.  He was an amazing artist and loved photography.  He was an iron worker apprentice who fearlessly worked hundreds of feet in the air on a harness.  He was an absolute artist when working in landscaping.  He was an excellent marksman and enjoyed archery and gunmanship.  And to those lucky enough to be in his life, he expressed his love and compassion without inhibitions.  He would always be there to help anyone who needed him, and he did it with genuine care and dedication.  He also loved to laugh.  He loved movies, music, shows, and puns.  He was a rare man who demonstrated what it means to be a good person, through and through.  He had a deep connection with nature and all its beauty and power.  But above all, his deep love for his family and close friends was everything to him.

Martin is survived by his parents Buddy (Robert John Rogers) and Debra (Debra Lynn Rogers); his brother Lance Rogers and sisters Maureen (Rogers) Strand, Melissa Rogers, and Laura (Rogers) Ferreira; his brothers-in-law Robert (Bobby) Strand and Kraig Ferreira; his nieces Lily, Nevaeh, Marcella, and Georgia; his nephews Bowen, Deegan, James, Kellan, Travis and Kole; his friends Jared Johannsen, Kenny Sieling, and Jon Sieling; grandmothers Doris (Blackney) Rogers and Leota (Lockwood) Berkshire; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins.  He was preceded in death by his sister Melissa Ann Rogers; grandfathers William Rogers and James Cottman; and step grandfather Jack Berkshire.

Martin's funeral will be held on Monday, March 16th at Adams Funeral Home in Paw Paw.  Visitation will begin at 11 am with the funeral service to begin at 1pm. The service will be followed by a procession and short burial ceremony at Maple Grove Cemetery.  A luncheon will be held at Martin's home immediately following the burial, at 52441 29 1/2 St in Paw Paw.
