Martin Lee Jepkema, 73, of Lawton, passed away Friday July 9, 2021.
He was born November 3, 1947 in Kalamazoo, Michigan, the son of the late Frederick Jepkema and Gertrude (VanBruggen) Jepkema, and his stepmother Marthalena (VanBruggen) Jepkema.
Martin served his country in the Army during the Vietnam War, he enjoyed woodworking, designing and building both of the family homes. In addition, he created many special one of a kind items, including model airplanes. He also had a fondness for WWII era aircraft, vintage cars and trucks.
On August 5, 1978 he married Marcia (Randles) Jepkema who survives.
He is also survived by his two daughters, Rhonda Jepkema and Jennifer (Aaron) Nesbitt; one son, Jay Jepkema; four grandchildren, Brendan Jepkema, Ulrich, Elijah and Esther Nesbitt; two brothers, Fred (Joan) Jepkema and Donald Jepkema; three sisters, Evelyn Knibbe, Shirley Turcott and Deb (Jim) Smit; along with many nieces and nephews.
Martin was preceded in death by his brother, Jim Jepkema.
The family will receive friends Wednesday, July 14, 2021 from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw. Funeral services will be held at First Baptist Church Lawton, Thursday July 15, 2021 at 11:00 am with Rev. Lonny Carpenter and Kelly Ryan officiating. Interment will follow at the Chamberlin Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions may be made to the First Baptist Church of Lawton or to the charity of choice.
