Marlow passed away Wednesday evening, October 30, 2013 at White Oaks in Lawton. He was born November 8, 1920 in Rogers City, MI the son of the late Theodore and Mary (Schleben) Pardike. Marlow was confirmed in St. John's Lutheran Church. Marlow graduated from Rogers City High School and worked as a sailor on Great Lakes Ore boats prior to enlisting in the U.S. Navy. He served in the Pacific during WWII and rose to the rank of Petty Officer. On June 8, 1947 at the First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw Marlow was united in marriage to Eleanor M. Cassada and together attended the First Presbyterian Church. He completed business and technical classes at WMU and started Pardike Radio & TV and later co-founded Paw Paw Music & Appliance. Marlow is remembered for his dedicated work ethic, a great sense of patience and humor and for his love and dedication to his family. Marlow enjoyed hunting, fishing, playing golf, tinkering, gardening, reading, and traveling with his wife, Eleanor. Surviving are his loving wife of 67 years, Eleanor; sons Gary (Jonette) Pardike of Hartford, and Gregory (Bonnie) Pardike of Paw Paw. Surviving grandchildren include Laura Pardike of South Haven, Marla (Chris) Salmon of Kentwood, Eileen (Cody) Hibma of Kalamazoo, Mark Pardike, Stephanie Pardike (fiancAC. James Johnson); great granddaughter Tesla, all of Paw Paw; brothers Theodore (Catherine) Pardike Jr. of East Aurora, New York and Guy (Anne) Pardike of Saginaw; and nieces and nephews. Marlow was preceded in death by brothers Harold, Merlin, and Norman Pardike of Rogers City; and Robert Pardike of Mt. Clemens; and by sisters Elva Werth and Virginia Srodes of Alpena and Rosemary McDonald of Rogers City. A memorial service will be held at the First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw on Tuesday, (11/5) 11 a.m. with Rev. Richard Cushnie officiating. A reception will follow at First Presbyterian Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Borgess Reverence Hospice or First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
