Mark Dominic Duell, 55, of Paw Paw, Michigan passed away on August 31, 2024.
Mark was born on December 4th, 1968, in Paw Paw, Michigan. He graduated from Paw Paw High School in 1987 and proudly served in the United States Marine Corps shortly after.
Mark married Kimberly Duell (Hardy) in 1999, and they divorced in 2022. During their time together, Mark built their family home from the ground up in Mattawan, Michigan and on August 1, 2001 and October 3, 2006, they welcomed their two daughters into the world, who were two of the most important people in his life. Mark was an incredibly selfless, loving, and devoted father. He was the ultimate ‘girl-Dad,’ as he coached his daughters’ softball teams over the years which meant dedicating much of his free time to watching and supporting his kids every weekend. He always kept spare ponytail holders in his wallet, and always knew just the thing to say or do when times would get tough. Mark had a deep love for his family, friends, and various projects he would take on. Whether it was a car repair, something around the house, or completely building something from scratch; he always knew what to do as he was a great handyman and problem-solver.
When Mark wasn’t busy with work, softball events, or various projects he would take on, he loved to watch Michigan State sports or NASCAR races. He was passionate about and great at cooking and grilling, often experimenting with different recipes from Pinterest and bringing the family together a couple nights a week to enjoy delicious meals. In the summers, Mark enjoyed time outdoors golfing and fishing on the lake he grew up on, Ackley Lake.
Mark is survived by his two daughters, Madison Duell (Josh Swinehart) and Meghan Duell; his sisters, Debra Duell, Doris Duell, and Denise Hopkins (Steve Hopkins); his brothers, Jon Duell and Jim Duell.
He has joined his parents, Robert and Cathleen Duell, in Heaven.
“Wherever a beautiful soul has been, there is a trail of beautiful memories” - Ronald Reagan. The world is certainly a different place without Mark, but those who he impacted will continue to love, remember, and cherish him for all that he was and all that he did.
The family will receive friends on Friday, December 13th from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a funeral service to follow at 1:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw.
