Marjorie Marie Johnson, 92, of Paw Paw, passed away Friday August 7, 2020 at Maple Lake Assisted Living.
She was born May 23, 1928 in Flint, the daughter of Charles Grimes and Lossie (Higginbothm) Grimes.
Marjorie earned her Registered Nursing (RN) degree from Hurley Hospital School of Nursing in 1949 and activley practiced nursing until she turn 67. Some of her nursing achievements would include being the head nurse of the Detroit Metro Hospitals emergency room unit and becoming a certified gero-psychiatric nurse late in her career, as well as being selected as the first head-nurse at the newly created Lakeview Hospital Behavioral Health Unit in Paw Paw, Michigan.
Throughout her career she worked every unit and shift at many hospitals (except surgery). For many years she was the office nurse for Doctors Millard and Reinoehl in Paw Paw.
Marjorie had an adventurous and free spirit. She loved taking on new challenges and going on adventures. She enjoyed moving around during her life experiencing working and living in new areas of Midwest, mostly Michigan. In her spare time Marjorie loved to travel to exciting locations.
She is survived by her four sons, Rick (Mary) Johnson, Russell (Lisa) Johnson, Randall (Sandra) Johnson and Roland (Peggy) Johnson; eight grandchildren, Genie (Andrew) Smith, Kelly Carter, Jason (Tasha) Johnson, Don Johnson, Jeffrey (Breanne) Johnson, Kevin Johnson, Heather Cook and Nick Stevens as well as 15 great grandchildren.
Marjorie was preceded in death by her sisters, Melba and Thelma and her brother William.
Cremation has taken place. There are no public services at this time.
