Marion passed away on Wednesday, April 4, 2012 at her winter home in Winter Haven, Florida. She was born March 2, 1930 in Lawton, MI, the daughter of the late Noah and Ada (Wolf) Geil. Marion enjoyed spending her winters in Florida, playing Bingo and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren. On July 12, 1947, Marion was united in marriage to James DeGroff, Sr. in Lawton, MI, who survives. Also surviving are 3 children, James (Pat) DeGroff of Paw Paw, Patricia (Ed) Dustin of Lawton and Sue Jensen of Katy, TX; 7 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren; sister, Ruth Lambert of South Bend, IN; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a gathering of family and friends to celebrate Marion's life on Thursday, July 12th from 2 p.m. until 5 p.m. at the American Legion Hall, Paw Paw. Marion's final resting place will be Oak Grove Cemetery in Lawton. Memorial contributions may be directed to Hospice of Southwest Michigan. Arrangements are by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw.
