Marian (Reynolds) Smead 86, lifelong resident of Paw Paw, Michigan, quietly slipped away Saturday April 16th at Bronson Methodist hospital surrounded by her loving family. Marian was born October 9, 1924 in Kalamazoo Mi, the daughter of Manfred and Addie (Chapman) Reynolds. She was united in marriage to Lloyd Smead in South Bend In. December 8th, 1951, raised 4 children together and was married for 54 years until his death. Marian worked 20 years for Duo-Tang and retired in 1980. She and her husband both enjoyed taking camping trips every summer around the state, which include fishing, hunting, exploring the woods and back roads. She was very generous in her nature, always extended a hand to those in need, was an accomplished artist, photographer, woodworker and enjoyed being in the garden by her pond. She loved her children, grand children and great grandchildren with all her heart, her cat Gypsy and her dog Buddy. Her friends were gifts to be treasured, as well as the rest of her family.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a grandson & a great granddaughter. She is survived by her children, David (Monie) Smead & Otto (Alice) Smead of Paw Paw, Larry (Brenda) Smead of Stevensville, and Kathryn (Patrick) Pitcher of Benton Harbor, 11 grandchildren, 9 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews. Memorials may be made in lieu of flowers to any Hospice, Homeless shelter, Food Pantry or Animal shelter/rescue organization ofthe donor's choice.
Visitation and service will be Saturday April 23, at Adams Funeral Home Paw Paw, from 10:00 A.M. until 12:30 P.M., services to immediately follow, officiated by Rev. Buddy Turner. Interment will be at Maple Grove Cemetery, Mattawan Michigan
