Marian passed away Tuesday evening, June 4, 2024, at Shands Hospital, Jacksonville, FL.
She was born in Grand Rapids, MI on March 12, 1940, the daughter of the late Nathaniel and Helen (Beckner) Johnson. She was a graduate of Bentley High School and attended both Olivet Nazarene and Southern Illinois Universities.
She was a wonderful mother who was always there when we needed her the most, offering support, wisdom, and love in abundance. A friend to many, she was a cherished member of the community in Michigan, Illinois, Indiana, Texas and lastly Florida, leaving behind a legacy of kindness and strength. Later in life she took a career as an Active Living Everyday facilitator for Van Buren County Senior Servies. She was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and the Boys Scouts of America. Throughout her life, Marian served as a volunteer in her community, with her church, the Boy Scouts of America and other organizations, even earning the distinguished Silver Beaver Award from the Boy Scouts of America.
On July 19, 1969, in Carbondale, IL, Marian was united in marriage to Theodore Morris Sinkewiz who preceded her. She is survived by 6 children, Charles Mull (Ilse) of White Plaines, GA, Liesa (Frank) Robarge of Ocala, FL, Daphne (Mike) Boyd of Summerfield, FL, John (Mary) Sinkewiz of Indianapolis, IN, Stevan Vuckovic of Paw Paw, MI, Vaughn (Bertha Santellano) Sinkewiz of Flower Mound, TX, 11 grandchildren, Michael Robarge, C. Alexander Mull, Kaytlyn Mull, Kendal Lam, Daniel Mull, Zoe Mull, Joshua Mull, Kairo Camil Theo Sinkewiz, Ethril Arian Sinkewiz, Aaron Osbon and Joshua Osbon; 4 great grandchild, Kiari Robarge-Morrissey; Charles A. Mull II, Harrison Mull, and Raife Mull, brother Nathanel (Zola) Johnson of Westland, MI, Sister Judith (Elon - late) Gawley of Flint, MI, Sister Sharon (Roger - late) St. Louis of Cass, MI, many cousins, nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Camila Sinkewiz.
Family will receive friends Friday, 21 Jun from 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home in Paw Paw, MI and services will be held Saturday, 22 Jun at 10 a.m. at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints in Paw Paw, MI. Interment will follow in Mt. Ever-Rest Cemetery in Kalamazoo, MI.
