Lydia passed away Saturday evening, July 19, 2014 at Bronson Commons Nursing and Rehab in Mattawan. She was born May 1, 1920 in Bainbridge Township, MI the daughter of the late Andrew and Rose (Skaley) Paul. Lydia was a member of the Lawrence Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. She was a nurse's aide at LakeView Community A memorial service will be held Saturday, August 9th, 2014, 3 p.m. at Lawrence Congregation of Jehovah's Witnesses. Memorial contributions may be directed to Alzheimer's Disease or Lawrence Kingdom Hall. Arrangements by the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. She was an excellent cook, and enjoyed baking, canning, planting a garden, having lots of flowers and loved the outdoors. On March 9, 1940 in St. Joseph, MI, Lydia was united in marriage to Arthur Modro who preceded her in death on November 15, 1997. She was also preceded in death by 4 sisters and 2 brothers. Surviving are two daughters, Beverly (Joseph) Earls of Lawrence; Carol Clark of Mohnton, PA; grandchildren, Wayne (Connie) Earls of Paw Paw, Scott (Brandi) Earls of Hartford, Mike Cross of Kalamazoo, Kim (Tim) Brown of Morgantown PA; great grandchildren, Erica Earls of Paw Paw, Brittany (Daniel) Holland of Lawrence, Riley Brown of Morgantown, PA, Megan Earls of Niles, Madisyn Earls and Buddy Earls of Hartford; great great granddaughter, Marissa Holland of Lawrence; many nieces and nephews.
