Lucille Dawn (Heiler) Sherburn, age 85 passed away Thursday, May 3rd on her late husband's birthday surrounded by her family. Lucille was born in Jackson, Michigan to the late Ronald and Dorothy (Karn) Heiler. On September 18, 1950 Lucille (Heiler) was united in marriage to William Sherburn. Lucille was the worthy high priestess of Kalamazoo White Shrine for two years and an active member until it closed. Lucille was everyone's Avon lady for fifty years and she was a lifelong resident of Michigan. Lucille and her husband Bill had a cabin on the river in Baldwin, while spending winters in Arizona. Lucille enjoyed traveling especially to Arizona after the passing of her husband to her nephew's house at least once a year where she loved taking pictures of cactus and flowering trees. Lucille enjoyed snowmobiling; she was one of the founding members of the Mattawan Snowmobile Club, flower gardening, reading books, taking pictures and sewing. She especially enjoyed having lunch with her sister in laws every Wednesday. Lucille was proceeded in death by her husband Bill, two brothers Jerry and Ronald and both of her parents. Surviving is a daughter, Catherine Sherburn, and a son, Tom (Chris) Sherburn, four grandchildren, Michelle (Kevin) Sells, Jamie (Brent) Kneeshaw, Sara Harris, and Shawn Sherburn. Five great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter. She is survived by many nieces and nephews and her extended Sherburn family. A memorial service will be held at Ruzick Farm (Root Road, Mattawan, Michigan) on Saturday, May 12th from 3:00-6:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Sunshine Library in Mattawan, Michigan or please plant a tree in Lucille's honor.
