passed away at her home surrounded by her loving family on Sunday, February 27, 2012. Lucy was born April 6, 1936 in Decatur, MI, the daughter of the late Dick and Emily (Bechi) Smith. Lucy was an avid woodworker and also enjoyed quilting. She was also a huge Elvis fan. Lucy is survived by 4 daughters, Deb Russell of Portage, Margaret O'Conner of Three Rivers, Evelyan (John) Dietz of Lawton and Penny (John) Brinks of Decatur; 11 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a brother, John Smith and grandson, Sean O'Conner. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a graveside service held on Friday, March 2, 11:00 a.m. at the Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton, MI, Pastor Carol Walden officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to the Borgess Visiting Nurse and Hospice Association of Kalamazoo.
