Loretta M. Janecke

December 9, 1927 — August 22, 2011

Loretta Janecke answered God's call on August 22, 2011 and joyfully entered eternal life with our Lord's blessing reuniting with her husband, Bob; sisters, Lillian Bacho and Florence Kozlowski; grandson Lukas Janecke. Loretta (Kozlowski) Janecke was born in Chicago on Dec.9, 1927 the daughter of the late Joseph and Anastasia (Sieroczynski) Kozlowski. Loretta married the love of her life, Bob Janecke, on August 31, 1947 and moved from Chicago to Lawton, MI in 1952. That has been her home, for the most part, except for the 3 years she lived in Portage, MI (1960-1963) and 9 years in Murfreesboro, TN (1972-1981) when Bob was transferred with Eaton Corp. Loretta was a homemaker who inspired her 13 children, their spouses, her 44 grandchildren and her 19 great grandchildren (with 2 more on the way) to live with purpose, to love simply and to sacrifice with a joyful heart. She had a strong faith and devotion to God. She cherished her family with an unconditional love celebrating each birthday, holiday, victory and special event with cheers and encouraging words to make you feel loved and valued. She will be greatly missed but we will hold the wonderful memories of our Mom and Grandma close to our hearts and treasure them every day. We'll love you forever, Momma! Surviving are her 13 children: Carylle (Frank) Springer, Robert (Carole) Janecke, Pat Karsen, Mike (Sherida) Janecke, Marge (Bob) Goodman, Paula (Mike) Smith, Rose (John) Harrison, Gina (Chris) Fonzi, Andy (Kitty) Janecke, Kathy (Dave) Brown, Matt (Dawn) Janecke, Dan (Nan) Janecke, Joey Janecke, and 63 grandchildren. The pain is gone and you are at peace. Enjoy your eternal rest. Visitation will be at Adams Funeral Home in Paw Paw on Thursday (8/25) from 5 to 8 p.m. with a vigil service at 7:30 pm. A Funeral Mass will be held on Friday, 10:00 at Saint John Bosco Church in Mattawan. In lieu of flowers please make donations to Rose Arbor Hospice Home in Kalamazoo.
