LeRoy passed away Friday morning, November 25, 2011 at Bronson LakeView Hospital, Paw Paw. He was born October 1, 1932 in Chicago, IL the son of the late Herman and Ella Kanwischer. LeRoy was a veteran of the Korean War serving in the U.S. Army. After moving to Michigan, LeRoy was a machinist for Stearns and Stafford, in Lawton and after retirement was a carpenter. He was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw, and a Fourth Degree member of the Knights of Columbus Council #0522, Paw Paw. He was a social person who enjoyed being with his friends, hunting, fishing, and gardening. On October 8, 1955 in Paw Paw, LeRoy was united in marriage to Loretta Ann Menzor who survives. Also surviving are 5 children, daughter, Diana (Martin) Haselberger of Paw Paw, Ken Kanwischer of Paw Paw, Vicky (Ben) Babcock of Beaverton, MI, Stephen (Lisa) Kanwischer of Paw Paw, and Daniel (Holly) Kanwischer of Otsego, 11 grandchildren; 4 brothers, Harold (Ruth) Kanwischer, of Miami, FL, Raymond Kanwischer of Sarasota, FL, Norman (Ardath) Kanwischer of Naperville, IL and Leo (Jean) Kanwischer of Frankfurt, IL. many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a sister, Lorraine Sadauskas. Family will receive friends Sunday 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where a K of C Rosary will be held Sunday evening at 7:30 p.m. Mass of Christian Burial will be held Monday, 11 a.m. at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Paw Paw with Re. Fr. Joseph Xavier celebrant. Interment will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery, Paw Paw with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Mary's School.
