Lawrence A. Johnson, 84, of Kalamazoo passed away May 22, 2014. He was born March 16, 1930 in Kalamazoo, the son of Maurice and Esda (Green) Johnson. Larry served his country in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War, attaining the rank of Sergeant. He went on to become an electrician for Peter Eckrich Company, retiring in 1995.
Larry is survived by three children, Larry Johnson of Dallas, TX, Jill (Chad) Johnson of East Wenatchee, WA, and Timothy (Lisa) Johnson of Kalamazoo; six grandchildren, Benn (Mindy) Wolfe of Ann Arbor, Joshua (Nina) Wolfe of Houston, TX, Arin Johnson and Rachael Johnson, both of East Wenatchee, WA, Ryan (Dawn) Freeland of Vicksburg, and Sarah Johnson of Kalamazoo; a sister, Sandy (George) Henry of St. Charles, MO; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and six siblings.
Cremation has taken place and memorial services will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions may be directed to West Michigan Cancer Center.
