passed away on Thursday, June 14, 2012 at his home in Lawton, surrounded by family. LaVern was born on April 2, 1933, in Pever, SD, the son of the late Henrey & Margaret (Ness) Streich. Vern was united in marriage to June D. Anderson on October 25, 1952, in Browns Valley, MN. They were blessed to have nine children and 55 years of marriage together. Vern was employed at General Motors for 33 years until retirement, prior to that he was employed by Budzen Block Plant for 11 1/2 years. He loved farming, fishing, and keeping his nine kids in line. He is survived by nine children, Tom Streich, Randy (Diana) Streich, David "Moose" (Michele) Streich, Steve (Cindy) Streich, Becky (Bob) Barrett, Jeanie (Jimmy) Howard, Connie (David Dunn) Streich, Cindy Streich, and Ricky Streich; 28 grandchildren; 30 great grandchildren; two brothers, Danny Streich, Torrance, CA, and Dick Streich, Coon Rapids, MN; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, June; his parents; one brother Bud Streich; two sisters, Lois Bailey, and Pearl Block. The family will receive friends on Friday, June 22, 2012, from 4 to 8 P.M., at the Paw Paw - Lawton Eagles Aerie # 4310 , 63237 M-40 South, Paw Paw.
