Laurel Madelyn (Larson) Ozanich, age 90, passed away on April 28, 2015 in Skokie, IL at the home of her son. Laurel was the widow of Rudolph Leo "Rudy" Ozanich and a long-time resident of Paw Paw. Laurel, is survived by her son, Daniel (Mary) Ozanich, her grandchildren, Daniel J. (Shannon), Ozanich Jr, Carolynne Katherine "Katie" Ozanich, and Abbey Ozanich, daughter of the late Paul A. Ozanich, Laurel's son, who preceded her in death, and by her two great-grandchildren Arianna, age 16, and Ethan Ozanich age 11, the children of Daniel and Shannon. The oldest of six children of the late Robert and Nina (nee Cuddeback) Larson, was born on April 4, 1925 in Morris, IL. Laurel is survived by her siblings, Norman (the late Dolores) Larson, Robert (Shirley) Larson, Suzanne (Norman) Shanahan, Shirley (the late Jim) Figg, and Lawrence (Kathy) Larson; many nieces, nephews and their children, of whom Laurel was very fond, as well as many close friends. For many years, Laurel was a cosmetologist at the Fashionette Beauty Salon in Paw Paw. She was also an active member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in Paw Paw, a member and past president of St. Mary's Altar Society, and past secretary for the Sacred Heart Mission group. She also enjoyed working at the St. Mary's Bingo games. Laurel is fondly remembered by many as an avid reader, who loved to bowl, play bingo, go to the casino, travel with her husband and friends, and get together with friends and family. There will be no visitation as cremation has taken place. Friends and family will gather for a Memorial Mass at 10:30 A.M. on Saturday, May 30, 2015 at St. Mary's Church in Paw Paw, Michigan. Interment immediately following at St. Mary's Cemetery in the Ozanich plot. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Laurel's memory to the Theatre of Western Springs, 4384 Hampton Ave, Western Springs, IL 60558 Phone: (708) 246-4043, where Laurel enjoyed her great-granddaughter, Arianna, in productions; or to St. Mary's Church, Paw Paw.
