Laura Jane Sirrine of Mattawan went to heaven on Saturday April 23, 2022 with family by her side. Born September 28, 1937 she was the sixth of ten children to Frances E. (Masten) and Richard L. Clippinger of Almena. She was a member of the Mattawan High school class of 1956 where she participated in band and was a member of the Civil Air Patrol. Laura was a talented seamstress and crafter from an early age. She sewed many clothes over the years for herself, her children and other family members. She began her career in accounting but left to get married and raise her family. Laura returned to work after the kids were grown as a dietician at Park Village Pines. In her later years her favorite place to be was helping out at Owsiany's Fruit Stand, where she could visit with people.
Laura loved kids and was loved by so many over the years that she acquired many nicknames including: Ma, Mom, Granny, Gram, Cookie Granny and Great Grandma. She not only raised her 5 children but helped to raise grandchildren and great grandchildren. Laura was preceded in death by her parents, siblings: Annette Smith, Oriene Pleyte, Virginia Rayman, Lois West, Leroy, Patrick and Frank Clippinger; grandsons: Brent Martin-Elben, Brandon Avard, Aaron Curran and great granddaughter: Victoria Sirrine. She is survived by siblings: Marian Paro, Dorothy Trautman, Henry Clippinger and Robert Miller; many nieces, nephews and cousins. Laura is survived by her children: Donald Jr. (Darlene) of Richland, Darla Avard of Portage, Billy of Marquette, Brenda Acklin of Bloomingdale and Dustin (Tamara) of Paw Paw, Grandkids: Melanie (Jon), Megan (Brad), Alexa, Dara, Rebekah (Zak), Melissa (Ash), Toshika (late Ken), Dennis, Amanda (Zach), Tara (Jim), Dusty Ann (Dan), Donna (Dustin) and Jesse. Great Grandkids: Ethan, Owen, Chloe, Elizabeth, Klaire, Kallie, Lylah, Alexis (Aaron), Aspen (Cameron), Karlie, Jessica, Laney, Ares, Athena, Azaliah, Conner, Freedom and Briann. Great-Great Grandkids: Mia, Lucas, Aurora, Amira, Phoenix and Oakley.
The family would like to thank The Laurels of Galesburg for the love and care provided to Laura in her final years.

There will be a memorial service for Laura on Saturday, May 21, 2022 at 2:30pm at the Almena Methodist Church in Paw Paw.
