Katie passed away Saturday morning, July 20, 2013 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. She was born July 9, 1923 in Lawrence, MI the daughter and youngest child of the late William Martin and Myrtle E. (Drake) Carney. Katie was a graduate of Lawrence High School, class of 1941. She was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw, Bronson LakeView Hospital Auxiliary and Lawrence Alumni Association. On March 16, 1946 in East Lansing, MI, Katie was united in marriage to William H. Woodman who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Linda (Vete) Toliusis; son, James Carney Woodman both of Paw Paw; 3 grandsons, Paul Toliusis of Paw Paw, Mark Toliusis (Chelsie Hart) of Chicago and Matthew (Patricia) Toliusis of Austin, TX; brother and sister-in-law, William and Jean Schmidt of Euless, TX; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four siblings, Robert William Carney, Mary Louise Anderson, Louie Martin Carney and Timothy J. Carney. Family will receive friends, Friday, July 26, 12:00 noon to 2:00 P.M. at the Adams Funeral Home Paw Paw where funeral services will follow the visitation at 2 p.m. with Rev. Dr. Richard C. Cushnie, of the First Presbyterian Church, Paw Paw officiating. A private interment service will be held at Prospect Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw.
