On February 17th, 2025, our beloved Karie passed gracefully into the loving arms of her Lord and Savior Jesus Christ after a long period of serious illness.

She attended KVCC for an Associate's degree in Pre-Med and Fine Arts and also worked as an orthodontic assistant and as a scheduler/secretary to a nephrology group. She eventually worked for her Dad in the family nursery business.

As a child, Karie was the creative force behind backyard theatrical productions, often recruiting neighborhood kids and her adored reluctant little brother, Ryan. Dressing up, harmonizing in song, and staging ongoing mini-plays. On one occasion she persuaded Ryan to fly the family to Mackinac Island for her birthday celebration.

But those who knew Karie as we did will remember her for her generous spirit, kind heart, and willingness to listen. Her beautiful singing voice could lift any soul, filling homes, churches, and theaters with warmth. The melodies of her piano compositions and “theme” songs echoed through our house, a testament to her musical talent. Karie had a deep love for animals, especially her cherished kitties - Suzy, her “little rag doll,” and Toby, whom she rescued and rehabilitated. Even while on an acting tour in Greece, she showed her compassion carefully removing ticks from a wild baby hedgehog, spending hours ensuring its survival while her friends looked on in amazement.

Her love for the lord stood out in her small compassionate acts of kindness as she reached out to homeless and downtrodden people she seemed to meet everywhere.

She loved family gatherings for any reason, though her health prevented her so many times from attending them. Family was so very dear to her heart.

Karie was preceded in death by her beloved grandparents, Joseph and Wanda Kobe, and Bob and Marie Terry.

She is lovingly survived by: Her devoted parents, Paul and Carole Kobe. Her cherished brother, Ryan, sister-in-law Roely, and beloved nephew, Teddy. Her dear aunt, Susan (Kobe) Schmitt. Her loving aunt and uncle, Kris and Brad Fralicx. Her cousins, Michelle, John, Cross and Karis Watson, and Shayne, Don, Joshua and Olivia Uphold.

Karie’s warmth, and talented compassion touched many lives. Her memory will continue to live on in the hearts of family and friends. She will be deeply missed by all who were blessed to know her.
