PRICE, Judith A.
Lawton
Judy passed away Friday evening, January 2, 2015 at Rose Arbor Hospice Residence in Kalamazoo. She was born on September 20, 1940 in Lawton the daughter of the late John H. and Zella A. (Taylor) Reid. On June 3, 1967 in Lawton, Judy was united in marriage to Don Price who preceded her in death on July 20, 2008. Surviving are a two 2 sons, Donald (Nanette) Price II and Daniel (Sheryl) Price both of Lawton; three grandchildren, Hannah, Addisyn and Logan; brother, Raymond (Margaret) Reid of Decatur; sister, Sally Hainline of Lawton; several nieces and nephews; special friend, Dale Hackenberg of Lawton. Judy was a lifelong resident of Lawton. She loved her community and made many, many friends over the years. For over forty years, Judy was a member of the same card club that met once a month. She also served as a member and an officer of the Lawton Alumni Association for nearly twenty years. Her early working career involved the Eaton Corporation and was followed by taking over her father's full service gas station (Reid's Service) and ended with being a bookkeeper for Lawson Oil Company. She was also the Lawton Village Treasurer, an elected position, for the last 20 years. Judy and her late husband, Don, were amazing parents who loved to attend their sons' sporting activities. From their sons' early childhood through their high school years, Judy attended every one of her sons' events and then continued that support as their oldest son, Don, became a high school and college coach. Becoming a grandmother (granny) to two beautiful granddaughters was her greatest joy. She loved spending time with them and enjoyed attending all of their school activities. In retirement, she certainly was not a homebody as she liked to be "out and about." Judy enjoyed spending time at the Vineyard CafAC., having coffee with the crew at Lawson's, going on annual trips and visiting casinos with the girls, garage sale shopping, and spending time with her beloved grandchildren. Judy was a kind, caring and compassionate person with a beautiful smile who touched the lives of countless people. She will be missed more than words can express but her memory will live on through those so profoundly and positively impacted by her wonderful life. Family will receive friends Thursday 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Funeral services will be held Friday, 11 a.m. at the Lawton Mennonite Church with Rev. Patti Haas officiating. Interment will follow in Oak Grove Cemetery, Lawton. Memorial contributions can be made to the Lawton Alumni Association.
