Judith Ann Hyet, was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, sister and daughter who had a great sense of humor, laughed often and was always a joy to be around. Judy passed away Sunday, April 6, 2014 in Arcadia,FL. She was born April 13, 1947 in Kalamazoo, MI the daughter of the Theo and Alice (Hendricks) Britten. Judy graduated from Mattawan High School in 1965 and lived in Mattawan most of her life. She worked for Pfizer Corp as a packaging operator where she met her husband to be, Michael Hyet. They were united in marriage on January 24, 2005 in Las Vegas, Nevada. After retiring from Pfizer, Judy and Mike moved to Arcadia, Florida where they became avid Detroit Tiger fans and season ticket holders. They spent every summer in Michigan where Judy enjoyed swimming and spending time with her grandchildren, family & Pfizer friends. Christmas was her favorite time of the year when she decorated her home with lights, snowmen and angels. Her craft projects and collection of carrousels were proudly on display throughout her house all year-long. Judy really liked shopping at Dollar stores and enjoyed puzzles, Sudoku, crosswords, crocheting and other craft projects. She loved and enjoyed her dog Chelsea and cat Casey. Surviving are her husband, Michael Hyet of Arcadia, FL; mother, Alice Britten of Winter Springs, FL; son, David and Heather (Schmidt) Bazi and their children Hannah & Michael of Mattawan; 2 step-daughters, Tracey Meyers of Gobles and her son Michael, Kelly Rasmussen of Gobles and her children Jonathan & Richard; 3 siblings, Ed (Judy) Britten and John (Leslie)Britten all of Mattawan; Jackie (Bill) Tucholke of Marcellus; many nieces and nephews. Judy was preceded in death by her father, Theo Britten. A celebration of Judy’s life will be held on Saturday, June 14, 2014 at Trinity Lutheran School, Paw Paw from 1 to 4 p.m. Although Judy has passed, she will live on in the hearts of all whose lives she has touched. Memorial contributions may be made to Relay for Life or Trinity Lutheran School, Paw Paw.
