Jonnie passed away Wednesday evening, May 25, 2011 at Bronson Methodist Hospital in Kalamazoo. She was born August 8, 1953 in Kalamazoo the daughter of John and Norma (Valkner) Kiewiet. She was employed by H & R Block for 10 years and enjoyed reading, cross words, baking and attending her children and grandchildren's sporting events. She loved going to church and was a member of the Living Waters Church II in Gobles. On May 31, 1975 in Portage, MI. Jonnie was united in marriage to David L. Burns who survives. Also surviving are 3 daughters, Sharon (Eric) Page of Paw Paw, Elizabeth (Dan) Sager of Paw Paw and Pamela Burns (Sean Isham) of Kalamazoo; 7 grandchildren, Alexis, Rebecca, Samuel, Alyssa, Derek, Doug and Drake; mother, Norma (Larry) Coats of Havelock, NC; 5 sisters, Jeanette Ford, Juanita Sawyer, Joyce Stowe, Janice Garcia and Joann Manley; 2 brothers, John Jr. and Jeffrey Kiewiet; many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father, John Kiewiet, Sr. Family will receive friends Tuesday, (5/31) 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will be held Wednesday 11 a.m. with Pastor Randy Hatfield officiating. Interment will follow in Almena Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be directed to the family.
