John Albert Parker

John Albert Parker, 67, of Paw Paw, passed away peacefully with his daughter and son at his side, Thursday, January 30, 2025, at Medilodge of Kalamazoo after a courageously fought battle with Huntington's Disease. 

He was born December 20, 1957 in Chicago, Illinois, the son of Cornelius Parker and Gertrude (Reiff) Parker.

John worked in construction for many years as a project manager. He relocated to Michigan from Chicago. He enjoyed watching football, especially his Chicago Bears. He also like to watch NASCAR and go bowling. John was a social man and loved meeting new people at social events. He adored his family and would give the shirt off of his back to anyone who may need it. His compassion and kind heart will be deeply missed. 

He is survived by his daughter, Carly (Alex Wait) Parker, his son, Kyle (Brooklyn Smith) Parker; sisters, Karen (Ken) Reinhofer, Fran (Frank) Dunglemann and Alice Parker; sister-in-law, Jennifer (Rodney) Sturgis and brother-in-law, PJ (Stacey) Moore. 

John was preceded in death by his parents and his wife, Tara (Moore) Parker in 2012. 

Family and friends are invited to visit on Friday, February 7, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home, 502 W. Michigan Avenue, Paw Paw. A celebration of life service will be held at 12:00 p.m. with Chaplain Ellen officiating. John will be laid to rest at Maple Grove Cemetery in Mattawan.

Memorial contributions may be made to Huntington's Disease Society of America or to Heartland Hospice.
