John left for eternal peace on April 3rd, 2017, with his wife of 56 years, children and grandchildren by his side. We were blessed to learn many valuable lessons from John during his 81 years with us. On October 25th, 1935, in Chicago, John was born to the late John and Anna(Bukausky) Menzor. John attended Catholic school at Immaculate Conception until moving from the city at age 15. The family purchased 55 acres west of Paw Paw and began a life of farming while maintaining the first UPS Hub in Michigan. Once John graduated High School, his passion of planes drew him to the Air Force, where he was an instructor and maintained F86D aircrafts. On August 19th of 1961 he married in Paw Paw at St. Mary Church. John’s love of travel and entrepreneurial spirit inspired the newlyweds to launch “Gravel Hill Sales, Inc”. While working the business and maintaining the farm, John’s social life was initially built around St. Mary Church, the Knights of Columbus and fund raising activities. As a Parish Board member, John was extremely instrumental in creating such events as “Vegas Night” and weekly Bingo. Traveling with his family in an RV, was a significant part of his life and they treasured remarkable sights from coast to coast. Being an avid outdoorsman John loved hunting and fishing with friends and family. Always a dedicated family man and friend throughout the community and beyond, John regularly took time to chat, smile and share a laugh with the people in his life. He is survived by wife Lonna (Schubering), two children, Mary Macyauski and John Menzor (wife) Kendra, four grandchildren, Josh and Adam Macyauski and Alexis and Breana Menzor and John’s beloved sister Loretta Kanwischer. All are invited to visit with the family on Monday, April 10, from 2-4pm & 6-8pm with Rosary service at 7:30pm at Adam’s Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw. Mass of Christian Burial will take place on Tuesday, April 11th, at 11am at St. Mary Catholic Church, Paw Paw. Burial will follow at St. Mary Cemetery with a luncheon at St. Mary Cafeteria. Memorial contributions may be directed to St. Mary School.
