John Karpiel

John Karpiel, age 70, of Paw Paw, passed away Friday, July 9, 2021 at Bronson Hospital in Kalamazoo. He was preceded in death by his father and mother, Joseph and Helen (Nykaza) Karpiel and his sister, Helene Karpiel. John is survived by his brother, Joseph Karpiel, sisters, Louise (George) Spangler, Marie (John) Stimac and Jean (Barukh) Joshua, along with cousins, nieces and nephews. John attended Paw Paw schools, he then went on to study at Kalamazoo Community College. He worked in the building trades as a licensed electrician and as a state building inspector. He was also a reserve deputy sheriff. John had a true love for music and was quite the accomplished musician. He played and instructed many people over the years. Some of his special memories were paying the guitar professionally in the Kalamazoo and Boston areas. Most of all, John was known for his generosity and always helping others. He will be missed by all who knew him. Cremation has taken place. Interment will be held privately at a later date at Wildey Cemetery in Paw Paw.  In Lieu of flowers, please consider donating to Animals Best Friend of Kalamazoo.
