John Heneghan “Chuck” passed away on November 17, 2016, after a long and hard-fought battle with Leukemia. He was born in Chicago, IL, on June 27, 1940, but grew up in Marcellus, MI with many happy memories. After serving in the Army at Fort Wainwright, Fairbanks, Alaska, he went to work for General Motors, Kalamazoo, MI, and retired after 35 years of service. He very much enjoyed historical Western fiction and visited many of the places he read about, from the Canadian border to the Mexican border; from rafting through the Grand Canyon to riding horseback in the Rocky Mountains of Yellowstone. Chuck supported the Kal-Haven trail and hiked and biked there as often as he could. He was also an avid Notre Dame fan. He leaves behind his wife of 53 years, Cynthia, his son, Blain of Portage, MI, friends and relatives. As he wished, there will be no services.
