John Robert Fisk, 74, of Paw Paw, passed away Saturday, November 27, 2021 at his home in Paw Paw, surrounded by his family. He was born December 11, 1946 in Paw Paw, the son of Bill Fisk and Leona (Miller) Fisk.
John married his high school sweetheart Donna Fay Ocker on August 13th, 1967.
He served in the U.S. Navy in Vietnam as a river patrol boat gunner and received the U.S. Navy Commendation medal with combat "V" for heroic service. John had a 40 year career working for the phone company, retiring from AT&T in 2009. His passion for singing was evident in his active membership in the Paw Paw Community Choir. John was a humble man, but gifted in many ways. In 1979 he put his talents to work when he built his family home. He took great pride in maintaining his home and property for 42 yrs. John extended his love to friends and acquaintances, always lending a hand whenever possible.
John is survived by his loving wife, Donna (Ocker) Fisk.
He is also survived by his two daughters, Holly (Dan) Kanwischer and Cheri (Bill) Lula; five grandchildren, Kara Weber, Kyle Kanwischer, Kurt Kanwischer, Chelsea (Trevor Schramm) Lula and Andrew (Madelynn) Lula; three great grandchildren, Wesley, Wade and Whitley; his sister, Linda (Clarence) Stimac and his brother, Bill (Eloise) Fisk.
John was preceded in death by his parents and a daughter, Kara Marie Fisk.
Family and friends will visit Wednesday, December 1, 2021, beginning at 12:00 pm until 2:00 pm. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 West Michigan Ave., Paw Paw, where a life celebration will commence at 2:00 pm. Interment will follow at Almena Cemetery.
