passed away at the Bronson Nursing and Rehab Center on Sunday, May 13, 2012 surrounded by her family. Jo Ann was born April 14, 1930 in Kalamazoo, MI, the daughter of the late Burleigh and Beatrice (Page) Johnson. She was a long time member of St. Mark's Episcopal Church in Paw Paw, as well as the Coterie Club. She was also a member of the Paw Paw-Lawton Chapter #257 O.E.S. Jo Ann worked for many years as a Dental Assistant for Dr. Winchell's office, as well as a site director for the American Red Cross. Her other passion was spending time at the Learning Tree where she was known as "Grandma Jo". On May 28, 1966 Jo Ann was united in marriage to her loving husband, Alfons Letkiewicz, who preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded by a son, Timothy Ruess and a daughter, Kelly Ruess. Surviving are her daughter, Scott (Al) Jaqutis; son, Craig (Jean) Ruess; grandchildren, Stevie and Ryan Jaqutis ,Kaci (Chase) Spirito, Kai and Cameron Savaree-Ruess, Dillon and Connor Ruess. Per her wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a memorial service held on Saturday, June 2, 2012, 4:00pm at the Seventh Day Adventist Church of Paw Paw, Rev. Rebecca Crise officiating. Private burial will take place at Mount Ever-Rest in Kalamazoo, MI. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to St. Mark's Episcopal Church or the American Red Cross.
