Jeri Charlene Tapper, age 58, of Paw Paw, passed away November 1, 2016, surrounded by her loving family after a four year courageous battle with cancer. Jeri is survived by her husband, Steven Tapper, two children, Christopher (Jane) Tapper and Craig (Megan) Tapper, seven grandchildren, Monica, Cooper, Jack, Samantha, Erin, Brooke and Colin Tapper, her father and mother, Charles and Leah Moses, two sisters, Alice (Gary) Burnside and Teri Sue Moses, along with many nieces and nephews. Jeri was born in Paw Paw on September 3, 1958. She was united in marriage to Steven Tapper in 1979. Jeri was a loving wife, mother and grandmother, she always put her family first. In addition, Jeri always put the needs of others before her, whether it be at work, home or friends in the community. She had a lifelong dedication to work in public safety. For the past 29 years, Jeri served as 911 Director for the Van Buren County Sheriff’s Office. She held a strong work ethic and true passion for her job. She was a member of MCDA (Michigan Communication Directors Association) and the MI-NENA (National Emergency Number Association). In her spare time, Jeri loved cooking for her family, knitting things and reading. She will be missed by her loving family, friends and coworkers. Friends are invited to visit with the family on Friday, November 4, 2016, beginning at 10:00 a.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, 502 W, Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, where a memorial service will commence at 12:00 p.m. with Rev. Tim McGee officiating. Memorial contribution may be made to DC Strong in Jeri’s memory.
