Jeff Ledbetter, age 57 of Mattawan, passed away at his home on March 22, 2018. He was born in Battle Creek on July 9, 1960 to the late James and Meta (Hayes) Ledbetter. Jeff leaves his loving wife of 34 years, Karen (Roche) Ledbetter, their two children, Morgan (Brandon) Wilder and Dylan Ledbetter, one brother, Dudley (Patti) Ledbetter and two sisters, Darlene (Hermann) Schulze and Dwana Kozminske. After graduating Mattawan High School in 1978, Jeff enlisted in the United States Army for 3 years. When Jeff returned in 1981 he decided to follow in his father “J.C.’s” footsteps to become a truck driver. Over the years Jeff wore many hats in his career, party store owner, builder, manager but always gravitated back to his passion of truck driving. While working for Hogan he was nominated and featured in Overdrive magazine as owner-operator of the month in July 2011 accrediting him for being a natural mentor. He was a skilled craftsman who created heirloom furniture and took pride in remodeling his own home. His sense of humor, his friendliness, his easy going attitude, and his strength and determination to fight adversity will be truly missed by all that crossed his path. In accordance with his wishes, cremation has taken place. A celebration of Jeff’s life will be held on Saturday, June 16, 2018 at 3 pm at the Blue Building, 5280 S. 1st Street, Kalamazoo, MI.
