Haynes, James Franklin “Papow”

Passed away on Tuesday, October 23, 2018 in his home surrounded by his loving family. James was born in Lawrence County, Alabama to James Marion Haynes and Dollie Mae (Heflin) Haynes on May 21, 1937. United in marriage to Delia Velma (Roden) Haynes August 17, 1958.
A lifetime honorary deacon, trustee, and faithful member of the Full Gospel Assembly Church in Hartford, MI for over 35 years which he loved his church family, pastored by Shannon Truelove. He retired with 35 years of service from Interkal Industries in Kalamazoo, MI. James was preceded in death by his parents, 19 of his 21 siblings, and children: James Leon Haynes and Angela Sue Paulsen. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Delia Haynes; his children Delilah (Tony) Black, Bryan Haynes, Maylon Haynes, Dawn Haynes, and Bobbi (Robert) Rawson; his siblings Betty Spangler and Rodger McCormick; 15 grandchildren and many, many great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews, and cousins. A special thank you to nephew, Eddie Winchester, who checked in on him often.
James was known by ‘plow boy’ by many due to his love of gardening and his landscaping. He was a jack of all trades that could fix and build anything. James will be dearly missed by many, he is so loved and appreciated by all. The family will greet friends for visitation on Sunday, October 28, 5pm to 8pm and the funeral service on Monday, October 29, 10am at Full Gospel Assembly 55921 CR 681 Hartford, MI 49057. Followed by a burial at Mt. Ever Rest Memorial, 3941 S. Westnedge Ave. Kalamazoo, MI 49008. A luncheon will be held afterwards at 3pm at the Paw Paw Conservation Club, 55222 30th St. Paw Paw, MI 49079.
