Jack passed away Tuesday morning, May 14, 2013 at his residence. He was born January 28, 1923, in Jefferson City, MO, the son of the late William and Lavina (Labadie) Crook. He has lived in Paw Paw since early childhood. Jack worked the Leslie Cole farm for 25 years and later worked at Welch Foods in Lawton, retiring in 1985. On November 25, 1944 in Paw Paw, Jack was united in marriage to Stella Wolownik who survives. Also surviving are a daughter, Karen Crook of Paw Paw; two sons, Jim (Nancy) Crook of Peoria, IL and Tom Crook of Mattawan; sister, Dolores Taylor of Allegan; brother, Cecil Crook of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Adam, Chris, Jeff, Alex and Tyler Crook; many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by oldest son, Larry; parents, and three sisters Nellie Cole, Beulah LaRue and Alma Treat. Jack had a passion for farming and gardening, and enjoyed hunting, ice fishing and the Detroit Tigers. Family will receive friends Thursday (5/16) from 6-8 p.m. at Adams Funeral Home in Paw Paw where funeral services will be at 11 a.m. Friday. Interment will follow the services in St. Mary's Cemetery in Paw Paw.
