Age: 73
Iris went to be with the Lord Monday evening, September 19, 2011 at Select Specialty Hospital in Pensacola, FL. She was born August 13, 1938 in Albion, MI the daughter of the late Clarence and Dorothy (Cox) Carter. She was employed by the Paw Paw Public Schools as a secretary in the superintendent's office until her retirement. Iris was a member of the Faith Baptist Church in Mattawan and active in the church choir for many years. She had a love for shopping, cake decorating for special occasions of family and friends, cooking, jigsaw puzzles, enjoyed laughing and spending time with her family and friends.
On August 29, 1959 in Albion, Michigan Iris was united in marriage to Larry E. Weir who preceded her in death on April 16, 2010 after 50 years of marriage. Surviving are 3 children, Thomas (Ailen) Weir of Pace, FL, Rebecca (Andrew) Adank of Coalville, UT and Cynthia Starr of Mattawan; 3 grandchildren, Lydia, Gabriel, and Noah Adank; brother, Robert (Lana) Carter of Albion, MI; several nieces and nephews.
Family will receive friends Tuesday evening (9/26) 6 to 8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw and Wednesday 10 to 11 a.m. at Faith Baptist Church, Mattawan where services will be held at 11 a.m. with Rev. Chuck Rawsthorne officiating. Interment will be in Albion Memory Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to Grace Baptist Church, Randolph, UT or the Mexico Mission through Faith Baptist Church.
