Iris passed away at her home early on Thursday, May 12, 2011. She was born on October 26, 1947 in Battle Creek, MI, the daughter of the late Harold and Ruby Hopkins. Iris was a very caring and giving person with a big heart, and could make friends with anyone she met. She was courageous and strong, and was a very hard worker. Iris loved bowling and gardening, as well as knitting and quilting. But most of all, she loved spending time with her husband, kids and grandkids. Iris is survived by her husband, David Hodge; 3 sons, Michael Ward, Kevin(Sherice) Ward and Brian(Kyra) Ward; 2 step-daughters, Carey (Dan) Telfer and Teresa Lipsey ; step-son, David Hodge; 6 grandchildren, Marlena Ward, Summer, Kelly and Logan Telfer, Wyatt and Austin Ward; sister, Bonnie Ayers, mother -in-law, Marge Hodge and surrogate children, Brandy, Thumper and Scooter. Family will receive friends on Tuesday, May 17 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of service at 1:00 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. Private interment will take place Wednesday at Fort Custer National Cemetery.
