Hilda passed away at home surrounded by her family on Sunday, August 12, 2012. Hilda was born on February 28, 1925 in Feerwerd (Netherlands), the daughter of the late John and Henrietta (Klooster) Cook. Hilda loved spending time at their property on Muskrat Lake. When she wasn't there, she enjoyed knitting and crocheting as well as spending time in her yard working on her many gardens. In 1967 Hilda was united to her loving husband, Herbert Brooks who preceded her in death in 2000. She was also preceded by her 1st husband and father of her children, Howard Bowersox; brothers, Fred and Clarence; sisters, Henrietta and Effie. Hilda is survived by her children, Patricia Mandigo, Barbara Niles and Ronald (Marti) Bowersox; 8 grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 5 great great grandchildren; brother, John Cook; sister, Annnetta Richardson; many nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends on Wednesday (8/15) from 12:00-1:00pm at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral services will follow at 1:00pm, Rev. Joe Spackman officiating. Interment will follow, Mount Ever Rest Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Memorial Contributions may be directed to Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
