Henry graduated from Stephenson High School in 1965. He joined the United States Army in 1966 and served faithfully. Upon his return home he married the love of his life, Lois on July 5, 1969. They renewed their vows on January 10, 2003. Henry always worked in management. He loved landscaping and he had a knack for picturing the perfect landscape for the property. He always loved the outdoors; Whether he was sitting out telling the time by the position of the sun or staring up at the stars admiring how small he was in the world. Henry had a passion for his style. He was very meticulous about his clothing, from making sure his shirts and pants were starch pressed to the jewelry that accompanied it. His hair was another proud trait for Henry. He took wonderful care of his locks and admired his own curls. Now if you knew Henry, you know what a great cook he was. He adored grilling out with the family and cooking to get everyone together. He knew all the secret ingredients, like real butter and bacon grease to properly prepare anything. His famous Porras Baked Beans and Mashed Potatoes were frequently requested. Henry had always enjoyed a good fireworks show. This past July 4, while in the hospital, his daughters went out of their way to provide him with the best show, from so high up with all the lights off. He had great chemistry with people, and he could talk to anyone about any topic for as long as he needed to.
