Harold was reunited with his loving wife on Monday, January 14th 2013 just 10 days after her passing, surrounded by his family. Harold was born December 10, 1926 in Fremont, MI to the late Benjamin and Francis (Scott) Tubergen. After graduation Harold served in the United States Marine Corps during WWII. He then started his career with the Michigan State Police, transferring to Paw Paw in 1969 and eventually retiring as a Sergeant in 1985. In 1981 along with his good friend George Crouse, Harold started the "Old Style Blueberry Farm", retiring again in 1994. When he wasn't working Harold enjoyed hunting, fishing, gardening and many recreational sports such as golf, softball and basketball. On December 30, 1948 in Fremont, MI Harold was united in marriage to his loving wife of 64 years, Myrtle Tubergen, who preceded him in death on January 4, 2013. He was also preceded in death by a grandson, Joshua David Boss and a brother, Alvin Tubergen. Surviving are his 3 children, Judy (Donald) Boss, John (Pat) Tubergen and Jerry (Marcy) Tubergen; 9 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren; brother, Morrie (Sylvia) Tubergen; sister, Mickey Ceton; brother-in-law, Stephen (Mary Jean) Kolk. Family will receive friends on Thursday (1/17) from 10:30 a.m. - 12:00 noon at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw where funeral service will follow at noon, Pastor Joe Spackman officiating. Interment will follow, Mount Ever-Rest Cemetery, Kalamazoo. Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Southwest Michigan or charity of donor's choice.
