Harold (Hal) Joseph Drouillard, 64, passed away on December 4, 2024, in Lawton, Michigan. Born on October 6, 1960, in Detroit, Hal was the youngest of five children of Clara (Jagels) and Walter Drouillard. He grew up on Detroit’s east side, a place he held dear throughout his life, always proud of his city heritage.
Hal built a career in the landscape irrigation industry, moving to Paw Paw, Michigan, in the late 1980s. A lover of the outdoors, he found joy in Michigan’s natural beauty. From the Detroit River to Lake Cora to Lake Michigan, the state’s many waters brought him peace. Hal also enjoyed cooking, fishing, and spending time surrounded by nature. Hal was a former member of the Lions Club and a proud member of Sigma Phi Epsilon.
He is survived by his children, Rachel Drouillard of Chicago, and William (Gita) Drouillard of Dubai, U.A.E.; their mother Lise Black; his siblings, James Drouillard, Donald (Linda) Drouillard, Mary (Thomas) Klimek, and Stephen (Debra) Drouillard; and many beloved nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara and Walter, and his sister-in-law, Jade Drouillard.
The family wants to thank Blueberry Hill Assisted Living and Transitions Hospice for their care and compassion. Cremation has taken place, and Hal’s family will gather this summer to celebrate his life and hold a memorial service.
