Gregory C. Alexander passed away Friday, July 8, 2022 in Kalamazoo surrounded by family. He was born October 31, 1955, in Paw Paw. Greg was a loving and caring husband, father, and grandfather. He proudly supported his children throughout their lives and never missed any of their activities, sporting events, or important life moments. Greg’s love for his children could only be surpassed by his love for his grandchildren, Margot and Beckett. He loved their daily video chats, eating ice cream together, and spoiling them endlessly. Greg’s relationships with his parents, siblings, and cousins were also very meaningful to him. He never missed a Rix or Alexander event and always made sure he was included in the family gossip. Greg lived a full life, but he enjoyed many simple things. He was an avid sports fan; loved snowmobiling, automobiles, and NASCAR; and always had time for an ice-cold Coca-Cola. Later in life, he found immense joy in elaborately decorating his yard for Christmas. Greg’s longest lasting love was his wife, Laurie. They were married for nearly 47 years and created endless memories together.
Greg is survived by his wife, Laurie (White) Alexander; his children, Amanda (Alan Silverstein) Alexander, Andrew Alexander, and Ashley (Nathan McMunigal) Alexander; his grandchildren, Margot and Beckett McMunigal; his parents, Arthur and Janet (Rix) Alexander; and his siblings, Sandra Ellison, Joe (Terri) Alexander, and Ann (Justus) Scott.
Private interment has taken place at Maple Grove Cemetery. Family and friends are invited to share memories Thursday, July 14, 2022 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at the Antwerp Township Hall, 24821 Front Ave., Mattawan.
