Grace passed away Wednesday morning, Nov. 16, 2011 at her home. She was born Aug. 22, 1916 in Plankinton, South Dakota the daughter of the late Alfred and Mary (James) Hayhurst. Her family moved to St. Joseph, Michigan in 1924 and had been a resident of Paw Paw area since 1948. She was employed at Dillon Drug Store for 35 years until her retirement. On September 5, 1937 in Scottville, MI, Grace was united in marriage to Donald T. Brown who preceded her in death on June 16, 1967. On March 14, 1970 she was united in marriage Walter L. Areaux in Fort Hood, TX and preceded her in death in 1987. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Ruth Benwire in 1980 and a brother, John Hayhurst. Surviving are three daughters and sons-in-law, Sandra (Bill) Danger of Paw Paw, Donna (Lyn) Areaux of Mattawan, Shirley Brown of St. Joseph; 9 grandchildren, Dean Benwire, Lee Benwire, Tammy Fuller, Becky Kruozka, Robin Stacey, Steven Areaux, Kevin Klimach, Stacey Matthews, and Kelly McDannel; 23 great grandchildren, and 4 great great grandchildren; nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Friday evening 6-8 p.m. at the Adams Funeral Home, Paw Paw. A memorial service in honor of Grace Areaux will be held Saturday, 11 a.m. at Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw with Pastor Ronald Moritz officiating.. Interment will follow in Prospect Hill Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, Paw Paw or Hospice of Southwest Michigan.
