Gertrude passed away Tuesday morning, September 4, 2012 at Bronson Nursing and Rehab Center in Lawton. She was born April 23, 1912 in Paw Paw the daughter of the late Neve and Marie (Martin) Hulbert. Gertrude was a surgical nurse at Lakeview Community Hospital for many years and helped her husband with the Gold Medal Dairy in Lawton. She was an active member of the Lawton Baptist Church, for many years, was a girl scout leader and a member of the Maccabees. She became a member of the Lawrence United Methodist Church which she attended with her daughter. On January 24, 1934 in Coloma, MI Gertrude was united in marriage to Maurice O. Bailey who preceded her in death in 1993. She was also preceded in death by a son, James Bailey; brother-in-law, Steve Lubinski, and 2 sisters, Christine Burnett and Beatrice Adams. Surviving are 3 daughters, Janice Lubinski of Paw Paw, Peggy (David) Nicholas of Lawrence and Sandra (Harold) Wanink of Lawton; son, John (Jackie) Bailey of Kalamazoo, MI; 15 grandchildren; 16 great grandchildren; 7 great great grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. Family will receive friends Saturday, September 22, 10 to 11 a.m. at the Lawrence United Methodist Church, where a memorial service will be held following the visitation at 11 a.m. with Pastor Cliff Radtke and Carey Wanink officiating. Interment of cremains will be in Wildey Cemetery, Paw Paw. Memorial contributions may be made to the Lawrence United Methodist Church.
