George William Dillenbeck, age 79, of Lawrence, passed away May 1, 2017. He was born July 23, 1937 in Lawrence to the late George and Mabel (Richardson) Dillenbeck. George is survived by his wife, Carolyn (Crandall) Dillenbeck, two children, Sandra (Rick) Ogrin and Gary William (late Sandra) Dillenbeck, son in law, Mark (late Connie) Grigsby, seven grandchildren, Michael Grigsby, Angela Grigsby, Krystal (Dusty) Roggelien, Troy (Lindsey) Ogrin, Amber (Joshua) Atkins, Autumn Ogrin and Cortney (David) Dellinger, along with seven great grandchildren. George was preceded in death by his daughter, Connie Grigsby and three sisters, Donna Garrett, Mildred Kroshinsky and Ruth Groth. George retired after 40 years of service with the Van Buren County Road Commission, he also served as a volunteer fireman with the Lawrence Fire Department for many years. He was an avid hunter and gardener. He enjoyed fishing and in retirement enjoyed traveling with Carolyn. Above all, George was a devoted husband, loving father and caring neighbor, he would help anyone out in any way he was able. The family will receive friends on Wednesday, May 3, 2017 beginning at 1:00 p.m. at New Hope Fellowship, 201 West Michigan Ave, Paw Paw, where a funeral service will commence at 3:00 p.m. with Pastor Tim Gunderson officiating. Memorial contributions may be directed to Grace Hospice or the Kalamazoo Area Alzheimer’s Association for the Kalamazoo Alzheimer’s Walk.
