Gary Lynn Longcore, of Paw Paw, passed away on July 18, 2024, at the age of 63. Gary was the son of Clarence Longcore, Jr. and Joanne Stearns, born on August 31, 1960.
Gary enjoyed fishing, playing golf, and working on various farms for friends. He had a true talent for fixing motors. Regardless of what type of motor, or what it was in, he could get it running. He enjoyed “talking trucks” with his nephews and brother, going to truck shows, and riding along with them when he was able. He was referred to as “the king of one-liners” because of his great sense of humor.
More recently, Gary’s enjoyment was found in developing his relationship with his daughter, Michelle (Moore), and granddaughter, Alissa. Family cookouts, holidays, and birthdays were shared, and he would soak in the time spent with these two. He would keep in touch on the phone when he couldn’t visit in person. He was looking forward to golfing with his daughter and seeing his granddaughter play softball.
Gary was preceded in death by his younger brother Douglas Longcore, mother Joanne Stearns, and father, Clarence Longcore, Jr.
Gary is survived by his loving daughter, Michelle (Ryan) Mattimore, his granddaughter Alissa Kate, brothers Clarence (Jeff) Longcore, Kevin Longcore, and sister, Patricia (Keith) Mann; numerous cousins, 7 nieces and nephews – Sheryl (Mike) Anchor, Jeremy Longcore, Nicholas Longcore, Jeffery (Kristina) Longcore, Brandon (Ashley) Mann, Matthew Longcore, Kristen (Michael) Rickers, and 9 great-nieces and nephews – Olivia, Makala, Levi, Nathan, Gracie, Lindsay, Charlotte, Elizabeth, and Jackson.
