Freiderike (Nolte) Corey

Friederike Corey, 92, of Decatur, passed away Sunday, September 10, 2023 at Borgess Medical Center in Kalamazoo.

Friederike was born June 25, 1931 in Castle, Germany, the daughter of the late Fritz Nolte and Lena (Ingalls) Nolte.  While in Germany, she trained to become a beautician.

After moving to the United States, Friederike married Ernest Jefferson Corey and was a dedicated housewife and mother to her five sons.  She later worked at Welch's and retired from there many years ago.  Friederike loved tending to and enjoying her many flower beds around her home.

She is survived by her five sons; Harry Corey, Tom (Barbara) Corey, Dan (Jane) Corey, Ken Corey and Ernest Corey, many grandchildren and two sisters; Inga (Richard) Nelson and Rose Marie Barnes.

Friederike was preceded in death by her parents, Fritz and Lena Nolte, and her husband Ernest Corey.

Cremation has taken place. Friederike will be laid to rest at Prospect Hill Cemetery at a later date.
